Draft Heart of Fairfield Plan ready for public review!

Feb 3, 2017 at 7:53am

The City of Fairfield is pleased to announce that the Heart of Fairfield Plan public review draft was released on February 6, 2017!

In the summer of 2014, the City initiated a community-based process to develop a vision for the revitalization and transformation of the Downtown and West Texas Street areas. The City used an extensive community input process to develop the draft Heart of Fairfield Plan – which will guide City, stakeholder, and community investment for years to come. The plan outlines a strategic approach for how to achieve appropriate new development, public infrastructure and transportation improvements, amenities, and public safety enhancements.

The Heart of Fairfield Plan is a tool that will be used by the City of Fairfield, its residents, and the business community to help shape a vibrant city center over the next two decades and beyond.

The City has also released for public review the draft Environmental Impact Report that supports the Heart of Fairfield Plan. The EIR identifies potential environmental impacts and includes appropriate mitigations as required by California law. More importantly, the EIR provides a framework that will make the future environmental review of public and private projects much easier since projects can rely on its data and analysis (e.g., project applicants will not have to prepare lengthy environmental documents). Electronic versions of the documents can be viewed and downloaded through the following links:
